Discography

The Original Wooden Lion made only two forays into a recording studio. In the 1970s studio time was at a premium and even cheap 4 track studios were well beyond the band's pocket. We did go into a studio in Hitchin as part of a 'competition' to win a record deal but, I am fairly sure this was a 'con trick' because we had to pay for our time in the studio and they never got back in touch. I do have copies of the resulting recordings but I thought they should stay in a padlocked safe, in a disused toilet, in a flooded basement behind a sign saying 'Beware of the Leopard'

Well I thought they should anyway. It seems a company called 'Audio Archives' managed to get a copy of the acetate and has now released it as a CD complete with photos it filched from our website and my handwritten lyric sheet. all of this was done without our permission and without contacting us. We are, at the moment, trying to sort this out. They have done a good job of transferring the audio across and the whole thing looks very professional but it is still a pirated item.

Both 'Dogwatch' and 'Roy Weard and Last Post' , however, made recordings which were released on vinyl. These recordings are now available again on CD.

That Legendary Wooden Lion released its first Cd in 2011 and is currently working towards a second release.
